Heavy-metal royalty Mötley Crüe is blasting onto the stage of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Friday for what"s billed as Sin City"s first residency by a rock band.

The Girls, Girls, Girls and Smokin" in the Boys" Room quartet -- Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx -- are celebrating their 31st anniversary with a two-week stand at the resort. They"ll do a dozen shows through Feb. 19. For ticket and room packages, click here.

Because they"re staying put longer than usual, the show will be more of a spectacle -- "something we could not do on a regular tour" when sets have to be put up and pulled down every night or two, lead singer Neil told me via phone from his home in Vegas. There will be nine dancers, aerialists, plus "a lot of songs Mötley hasn"t played in many years," Neil says. One of them: Piece of Your Action.

He says of Vegas, "A lot of the perception is that musicians go there to die ... "Oh, you guys must be ending your career." " In reality, Vegas is a happening place where "you can be so creative," he says.
