More cruise lines cancel parasailing trips in wake of death

Norwegian Cruise Line is joining Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean in canceling parasailing excursions across the Caribbean in the wake of last week"s deadly accident in St. Thomas.
Another line, industry giant Carnival, is canceling parasailing excursions in St. Thomas but not Caribbean-wide.
A Celebrity Cruises passenger identified by the Virgin Islands Daily News as Bernice Kraftcheck, 60, fell to her death on Tuesday while parasailing in tandem with her daughter off the coast of St. Thomas. Kraftcheck"s daughter, identified by the Daily News as 34-year-old Danielle Haese, was seriously injured during the incident. The mother and daughter had booked the parasailing outing on board the 2,850-passenger Celebrity Eclipse, which was visiting the island.
The Daily News has reported that squalls and wind gusts in St. Thomas on Tuesday afternoon may have factored into the death, and at least six territorial and federal agencies are investigating.

Several of the lines that have canceled parasailing excursions including Celebrity have said their ban on the trips is "indefinite" pending an outcome to th
