Honolulu-Washington nonstop highlights new United routes

Beginning June 7, United Airlines will add nonstop service between Washington Dulles and Honolulu.
The carrier will fly the route with Boeing 767-400 jets. United says the route to its Dulles hub will be its eighth between Hawaii and the U.S. mainland. The airline also flies from Hawaii to Tokyo, Guam and Majuro (Marshall Islands).

The Washington-Honolulu route highlighted an announcement that included several other new routes. Most of the other announced routes were seasonal, though they also were to leisure-oriented destinations.
Here are the details:
Fairbanks, AlaskaBeginning June 7, United will add daily nonstop service from Denver on Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The flights will run through Aug. 27. In its release, United notes "Fairbanks offers access to Denali National Park, one of Alaska"s most visited destinations. The flights complement United"s existing Alaska service to Anchorage from hubs in Denver, Chicago, Houston and San Francisco, as well as Seattle.
Rapid City, S.D.Beginning June 7, United will add daily United Express service between Rapid City and its hub at Houston Bush Intercontinental. United regional affiliate ExpressJet will fly Embraer ERJ-145 jets on the route through Aug. 27. In its release, United calls Rapid City"s airport "the gateway to the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands National Park ." United also offers service to Rapid City via its Denver and Chicago hubs.
